The Keys to a Great School Year St. Augustine School Wilcox, SK

Dec 15, 2023 | Good News, Holy Family Catholic School Division

“We truly believe in a positive, caring, Christian environment which promotes respect… in order that each of us can develop our God given gifts and contribute to the quality and success of our school community.”

St. Augustine students and staff recite this mission statement at our weekly assembly so that we may live and lead through the words that encourage us all to grow to be the best we can possibly be.

During the early days of this school year, our Grade 7 and 8 students led our school through the meaning behind our mission statement; what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like. Students were then encouraged to create their own “keys” to a successful school year. These keys were then placed on display as a reminder of how they may choose to live this year as we all continue to embrace God’s grace.

As St. Augustine of Hippo once said, “You aspire to great things? Begin with little ones.” With a small, close-knit school community, we focus on celebrating and acknowledging the smallest accomplishments. One can often experience the friendly, nurturing demeanor of our older students working with our younger ones or our younger students cheering and rooting for the older ones. We at St. Augustine aspire to do great things … one step at a time.
