When Lorainne Brown, a Grade 7/8 teacher at École St. Peter School, was requested to meet in the school library without being given a reason, she thought she was in trouble.
As she walked through the doors, she was greeted with cheers from her class, balloons, and C95 radio personalities Rob Suski, Shauna Foster and Tim Stone—much to her surprise (and relief).
Then Mme. Brown learned that she was chosen as C95’s Teacher of the Year, an honour that includes a cash prize for herself and her class.
C95 afternoon show host Tim Stone stated that thousands of nominations come for parents, co-workers and students. Comments from Mme. Brown’s students in their nominations included: her smile is so bright; she makes learning fun; and she’s an amazing, supportive and understanding teacher. One summed things up in three words: “Changed my life.”
Congratulations Mme. Brown!
