POPE LEO XIV

White smoke signaling the election of Pope Leo XIV filled the sky before the Holy Father addressed the Vatican crowd with a message of peace. His greeting, which matched the first message from the Risen Christ, followed many messages encouraging welcome for all. As Cardinal Robert Prevost, he said, “Our work is to enlarge the tent and to let everyone know they are welcome inside the Church.” Thank you for welcoming others into our school communities.

FINAL WEEKS

June is always busy as we balance the work of completing one school year while beginning preparation for the next school year. Students are showing incredible learning and growth.

Meanwhile, staff in schools and at the Catholic Education Centre are busy hiring more staff as our student enrolment jumps above 14,000. We will also approve and submit the 2025-2026 budget this month.

FAREWELLS, GRADUATIONS & RETIREMENTS

To all our graduates and retirees, your contributions have left an indelible mark on RCSD, shaping futures and building legacies. Thank you for your dedication, and congratulations! Students saying farewell to their elementary years, we wish you every success in high school. May God bless you all in your next steps. We pray for success in all transitions, and in reaching your 2024-2025 goals.

WRAPPING UP

The end of this school year brings closure to two of our school communities, St. Peter School and St. Michael Community School. As past and present students and staff reflect upon their time in those classrooms, we ask St. Peter and St. Michael to pray for the continued success of the community as it becomes the new St. Raphael School.
