Deshaye Catholic School opened in 1965 and was named after Mr. V. P. Deshaye. Mr. Deshaye was a former Graton Roman Catholic Separate School trustee 1958-1964, a barrister in Melville Saskatchewan 1942-1955 and a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Melville constituency 1948-1952. He also served as a barrister with the P.F.R. A. until his death in 1964.
The staff at Deshaye has created an inviting and fun learning environment of high expectations using the teachings of Jesus Christ through integrity, leadership, respect, community support, equity of access, excellence in innovation, environmental sensitivity and diversity with the sole purpose of envisioning a better future for all.
