LENT

March 5 is Ash Wednesday, which begins the season of Lent. We are called to embrace this time of reflection, prayer, and renewal. We deepen our faith through acts of self-discipline, charity, and spiritual growth.

Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. Daniel 9:3

BUDGET

We have been advocating for unconditional and sustainable funding to support our students’ education, meeting with MLAs and the Ministry of Education. We eagerly await the provincial budget announcement this month, which will allow us to begin planning our budget for the upcoming school year. It is our belief that we can serve students best and meet their needs with funding we can count on.

NEW DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Did you know that the Board of Trustees has just one employee? That individual is our Director of Education, Sean Chase. Our most important task upon accepting his retirement was to find his replacement.

We are pleased to announce Kelley Ehman into the role. As a champion of the arts, athletics, curricular and extra-curricular experiences, we’re confident she will continue the tradition of educating each student as an individual gift from God. Kelley’s strong faith and experience in Regina Catholic Schools make her a great fit to lead our staff moving forward.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Students have a day off scheduled for March 17. Staff will be busy throughout the school division, with training, collaboration and planning projects. We pray the long weekend is a nice break for all our students.
