It was a day filled with excitement, smiles, and celebration as St. Mary’s Elementary School officially opened its brand-new community playground on October 19, 2026!
After years of planning, fundraising, and hard work, students, staff, families, and community partners came together to celebrate the grand opening of a space designed for everyone to enjoy.

And this wasn’t your traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony!
Instead of cutting a ribbon, students and staff gathered around the entire playground, holding a ribbon that surrounded the new space. When the moment finally arrived, the ribbon was released, and students rushed forward with pure excitement, laughter, and joy, ready to explore their new playground for the very first time.
It was a fitting celebration of what this project represents: a playground built by an entire community, for an entire community, where every child belongs.
