In early September, the students and staff at St. Augustine School in Wilcox gathered into their Spirit Teams, each named after an iconic Canadian lighthouse, for a special hands-on project that ties into the annual division faith theme, “Shine Your Light”.
Every team designed and built its own terra cotta lighthouse topped with a solar light, complete with team members’ names painted on the rocks surrounding the base.
The finished creations turned out wonderfully. Once a protective clear coat is applied, these bright additions will be proudly displayed in the school’s front entryway to welcome visitors and shine a light for the whole community.
