First Ride was on August 18. This year was the 9th edition of a chance for students to practice riding the big yellow school bus. Hundreds of Kindergarten students got a sneak peek at one of the most exciting parts of starting school. Regina Catholic Schools and Regina Public Schools hosted, supported by community safety partners. Students got to learn bus safety, meet friendly faces, and practice their trip before the school year begins.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for. After learning the rules, students climbed aboard and took their very first ride. Smiles stretched from window to window as nervousness gave way to excitement.
Regina Catholic Schools families turned out in a big way. Of our bused Kindergarten students, an impressive 94 per cent were there. It was a strong start to a new school year and a reminder that every great school journey begins with a safe First Ride.
