2026 World Catholic Education Week
As we begin this week, we reflect on the theme Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness / Pèlerins de l’Espoir: Sur le Chemin de la Sainteté.
This theme calls us to live as pilgrims on a journey of faith, where hope is rooted in the love of the Risen Jesus. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are invited to become more fully the people God created us to be. Across Saskatchewan, the 8 Catholic school divisions continue walking the path of Truth and Reconciliation. Rooted in Catholic faith and guided by Indigenous ways of knowing, we embrace this journey with authenticity—not just through words, but through meaningful experiences for staff and students.
During Catholic Education Week, we share these films to help us learn how God calls us to listen, respect, and heal. They show students, families, and staff what reconciliation looks like in action. Pope Francis reminds us that healing grows when we take real steps—when learning is authentic and brings people together through truth and encounter.
These films support the Church’s call to reconciliation through shared understanding and help school communities respond to the Pope’s 2022 apology by continuing the work of truth and renewal.
In this film, the wind becomes a symbol of hope on our journey to holiness. Like the wind, God’s Spirit moves in ways we cannot always see, but we can feel in our hearts. When our schools listen to survivors, learn Indigenous languages, and stand for fairness, we are not just gaining knowledge—we are allowing God’s love to grow within us. Hope gives us strength to keep going, even in difficult moments. The wind that carries stories is also the Spirit that clears the clouds, ignites our inner fire, and helps us move forward together.
May this film inspire us to walk the path of reconciliation with courage, kindness, and hope—toward holiness.
Created by the (SCSBA) Indigenous Leadership Team in partnership with the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation.
Inspired by the 2022 Papal visit and apology, it reflects a shared commitment to learning, listening, and walking together in Faith, Truth, and Reconciliation.
