SCSBA Indigenous Leadership Team Video 2026 – Christ the Teacher

May 4, 2026 | Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division

As we begin Catholic Education Week, from May 10 to 17, 2026, we reflect on the theme Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness / Pèlerins de l’Espoir: Sur le Chemin de la Sainteté. This theme calls us to live as pilgrims on a journey of faith, where hope is rooted in the love of the Risen Jesus. With the Holy Spirit guiding us, we are invited to become more fully the people God has created us to be. Across Saskatchewan, the eight Catholic school divisions are walking the path of Truth and Reconciliation. Rooted in Catholic faith and guided by Indigenous ways of knowing, we are embracing this journey with authenticity—not just through words, but through real experiences for staff and students.

During Catholic Education Week, we show these films to help us learn how God teaches us to listen, respect, and heal. They show students, families, and staff what reconciliation looks like in practice. Pope Francis teaches us that healing and reconciliation grow when we take real steps. Learning should be authentic and bring people together through real encounter and truth.

In that way, the films support the Church’s call to healing and reconciliation through shared understanding, and they help school communities respond to the Pope’s 2022 apology by continuing the work of truth and renewal.

In this short film, the wind shows us how hope works on our journey to holiness. Just like the wind can blow in any direction, God’s Spirit moves in ways we can’t always see, but we can feel it in our hearts. When our schools listen to survivors, learn Indigenous languages, and stand up for fairness, we’re not just learning facts—we’re letting God’s love grow inside us. Hope never lets us down; it gives us the strength to keep going even when things feel sad. The wind that carries stories is also the Spirit that clears the clouds, lights our inner fire, and helps us move forward together. May this film lift our spirits, make us stronger, and help us walk the path of reconciliation with courage, kindness, and hope—toward holiness.

Created by the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association (SCSBA) Indigenous Leadership Team in partnership with the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, this short film honours World Catholic Education Week in Saskatchewan. Inspired by the 2022 Papal visit and apology, it reflects a collective commitment to learning, listening, and walking together in Faith, Truth, and Reconciliation.
