Cyber Safety – Regina Catholic Schools

Mar 23, 2026 | Regina Catholic School Division

Kids learn, play, and explore online every day. As parents and caregivers, we can guide them so they stay safe and confident.

A parent’s role in cyber safety is big. Communication is key.  Ask questions about everything – phone, friends, activities, etc.  Never be satisfied with “nothing” or “everything’s fine” for an answer.  Actively engage in your child’s interests and build a strong relationship.

Go through your child’s phone.  Having a phone is a privilege, not a right.  Make yourself aware of the apps your child uses.  Unfriend people they don’t know.  Set their privacy setting appropriately.

Take note of changes in your child’s:

Let your child know they can always come to you – no matter what.  If they do come to you with something disturbing – don’t get mad.  They need your help and support.
