The Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association (SCSBA) and its member boards are deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. Our thoughts are with the victims and those who love them, and with the community of Tumbler Ridge.
We offer our prayers to the students, families, educators, and staff affected by this devastating act of violence.
We share a call to simple acts of kindness, as written by city councillor Ken Matheson in the Tumbler Ridge Lines newspaper:
‘In the coming weeks, one meaningful response would be to do deliberate acts of kindness in our own communities. Check in on someone. Write a thank you note to a teacher or a first responder, buy a stranger coffee for no reason, or simply tell someone you love them. Be kind. Offer grace instead of judgment. The effects of this tragedy extend far beyond one town; and we are all touched in different ways.’
God Bless, as we journey together in our thoughts, prayers and good deeds.
